Our activities are community based, which are targeted to improve wellbeing of the community.
we have partnership with different high-schools where we conduct our different activities like educational debates and health fairs.
we do visit some villages to make citizens be aware of health informations.
Currently SaGE Pharmily have two running projects, antimicrobial resistance raising awareness project (AMR-RAP) which aims at developing knowledge not only to the youth but also community at large to tackle the global challenge of rapid rise in antimicrobial resistance. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global challenge yet not well known. If the pace continues, by 2050 ten millions of people will die (i.e. the first killer) and world GDP will fall by 2% to 3.5% (~100trillion USD) due to AMR. Major factors of its rapid rise are misbehavior in drug prescription, adherence, taking medicines without prescription and poor hygiene and sanitation. However, in Africa 36.2% of people taking medicines receive antibiotics. Surprisingly, 31.7% of them do self-medication and 26.7% receive drugs from informal dispenser thus rapid increase of AMR. It is in this regard Same Goal Elite (SaGE) Pharmily intends and has started Antimicrobial Resistance Raising Awareness Project (AMR-RAP). Through tangible facts and statistics, the main goal of the project to raise awareness of how AMR is jeopardizing our health, provide all necessary information on the factors contributing to it and thus take measures to combat it.
On the other hand, we run a project aiming at empowering youth on sexual and reproductive health. This project is intended to curb the incidence of unwanted pregnancies by providing all necessary information to the youth on SRH. SaGE Pharmily works through different public talks, sketches, different writings and debates competition to have common understanding on health related issues and dig out solutions together. It works in the way youth can be easily attracted and therefore reach the intended goal of providing the message. So far we have reached 5 schools; ENDP Karubanda, Groupe scolaire Nkubi, Elena Guera, Petit semiraire Baptiste, and Groupe scolaire association des parents, in Huye district and we hope to expand our projects in different schools countrywide.
At the end of sessions, we make assessments to know if the message was got. After event we meet students in the health clubs, we have conversation and we explain to them our missions and they present different daily problems they meet. we start working together in different ways like mentorship and sponsoring them in their tournament.
Upcoming events: debate competitions, more health awareness campaigns, savoir plus, starting new projects includes; fighting against self medication, NCDs campaigns, furthermore all those projects mentioned SaGE Pharmily runs there is no sponsors and partners, they sacrifice themselves and use their monthly contributions to make all this possible, therefore they look for some partners and sponsors to work with for our projects to reach further countrywide to improve different community's lives.
